The pups are becoming more active by playing with each other and showing confidence by coming over to me when I enter the stall. Alda only spends a few hours in the morning with them and the rest of the day she is in her own stall across from the pups. With this separation Alda is sleeping more, and more alert during my visit. The pups are eating puppy kibble instead of a mushy slurry. They weigh about 8 pounds. They have gained a pound a week.
This week their names were given. The Puppy Raising Department will pick from a list of names that we submitted and others on file. Alda's puppy raisers also gave me names to submit. About half the names are from our suggestions.
I was able to capture a short movie of a pup jumping, just like her mother. Alda has the ability to jump 6 feet off the ground straight up when in the kennels. Seeing the food cart is a real trigger.
